• Simple if you're lucky and have a traditionally simple Perl installation.

• But here's how OS X's Perl is installed.

        prefix:         /
        modules:        /Library/Perl
        programs:       /usr/bin

• And here's the result of PREFIX=~

        modules:        ~/Library/Perl
        programs:       ~/usr/bin

• Well that ain't right.
