ExtUtils::MakeMaker is the module which builds and installs nearly every module on CPAN.
When you type "perl Makefile.PL" you are using MakeMaker to write a Makefile
When you run 'make; make test; make install' you are running a Makefile generated by MakeMaker
By providing a single, simple module installation mantra it has made CPAN the envy of all other programming languages
